Chi sono
I’m Valentina Morra, a 26 years old student, graduated in Biology last May. Last June, I awarded a scholarship for STRAIN project and on July I started my period at TIGEM. In October, I moved to Milan, where I have learned very useful techniques.
In Milan, I have been in Dott. Francolini’s lab, where I learned Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) technique and how to prepare samples for TEM. I have spent there one month and then, on November, I moved to Dott. D’Adamo’s lab (once again in Milan), where I have remained until now. In D’Adamo’s lab, I researched to find a correlation between the absence of OCRL enzyme in the brain and the manifestation of nervous system phenotypes as mental retardation and hypotonia. To this aim, I learned and adopted neuronal cell culture and cell imaging techniques. Finally, I performed several immunoprecipitations to find all the OCRL interactors in mouse adult brain.
I have finished my period abroad and I have come back in Neaples. Now, I’m continuing my work at TIGEM, in Dott. De Matteis’s lab, I’m studying for the PhD challenge and I hope to remain at TIGEM for my PhD period.
